Windsurfing
With its steady trade winds and glassy flat-water conditions, Aruba is one of the best places in the entire world to windsurf. So why not come and join in the fun? Learning how to windsurf is like playing on the water. As soon as you pick up the sail, the wind sweeps you out, and you will be sailing straight away. Our experienced instructors teach you how to hold your sail, stand on the board, uphaul the sail, and make turns. They explain all you need to know in one hour, after which you have another hour to practice under their supervision. Enjoy the freedom of dancing on Aruba’s gorgeous, crystal-clear water! Windsurfing is for all ages starting at 6 years.
Don’t forget to:
- Wear lots of sunblock.
- Wear (or buy) a rash guard and cap.
- Bring a towel.
Group & Private Lessons
We offer both group and private windsurfing lessons. We encourage everyone to choose what feels best for them!
Our group lessons always consist of 2 to 6 students. Usually, each student is an absolute beginner, so everyone in the group is sharing their first-time experience. The group dynamic lends itself to a really fun and motivating experience, and you’re sure to make new friends!
Those who want 100% of the instructor’s attention should opt for a private lesson. This one-on-one experience can add to the perceived quality of the lesson. You can also schedule a private lesson with more people, but we keep the instructor only for your group.
Advanced Lessons
Do you want to take it a step further and maximize your skills and potential? Would you like to learn how to use the foot straps, perform the water start, the jibe, or jump? In an advanced lesson, we take you out on the “Blue Highway” for the real deal!
Windsurfing Rentals
For the professionals and amateur windsurfers alike, we offer a range of rental windsurfing equipment that suits every level! Whether you just finished your windsurfing course with us, or you have been crisscrossing the ocean for half of your life…. The equipment we offer will guarantee that you have an absolute blast on our famous “Blue Highway”. We offer sails in sizes 2.5 to 7.4 and from the windsurfing boards we have beginner boards, starboards, and then multiple Fanatic Geckos in the sizes 148 liters, 135 liters and 122 liters. And we have a couple of Fanatic Blasts of 115 liters and 100 liters.
Aruba’s windsurfing spot has been popular ever since windsurfing evolved and Aruba has been known to be one of the best and most beautiful spots to windsurf. Due to the spacious area, the strong winds and it is still a popular destination for all levels of windsurfing. A must-know is our “Blue Highway’, you can’t miss it! We have a light blue lane in the ocean that goes from the Fisherman’s Huts all the way to Arashi, and it’s right where the wind starts to even out and become more steady and stronger. We call this lane “The Blue Highway” and it’s where the windsurfers get loose and blow off their steam. You could say we have a well visited Blue Highway traffic, but despite the praised popularity of this blue lane, there is plenty of space and wind for everyone to enjoy the beautiful sport together.
We supply harnesses, booties, and insurance if you want, and we will explain all about the spot before you leave. We do have a reef that is very shallow, so we will notify you where to go and where not to go! While you are out, we will keep an eye out for you and if you do need a rescue, we’ll be there. Of course, we hope to have clarified everything so well that you know your way around from the beginning!
The rentals do not have to be booked specifically, you could also just come in, sign in and get out there right away! We usually have most of the sizes in stock, so it’s just a matter of crashing our place and getting out. We love spontaneous visitors too 🙂
