Who are we?

It all started back in 1992 when windsurf fanatic JP van den Eerenbeemt began
teaching windsurfing at the Fishermen’s Huts in two huge self-designed windsurf-equipment containers. His small enterprise grew within about 5 years into a very lively windsurf center—a hub for lots of competitions, parties, and of course lots of windsurfing!

After high school, young windsurfing talent Wim Eelens decided that higher
education was not for him, and neither was professional racing. Instead, he
began helping at the center, teaching windsurf lessons, and repairing equipment.

JP taught him the tricks of the trade, and by 2006, when Wim was 24 years old,
he was fortunate to take over his dream. Wim worked his tail off and grew the
school into what it is today.

Being extremely passionate about outdoor sports and adventure, our soul lies in
what you experience with us at Aruba Active Vacations. We look forward to
sharing our enthusiasm for adventure with you!

  • Our instructors are VWDS- & IKO-certified.
  • Our staff is certified in first aid and CPR. 
  • We have 4 rescue boats equipped with cell phones, and every board lesson has its own boat (very important for progressing in a timely manner).
  • We have skilled mechanics who keep our equipment up and running at all times.
  • Our boat driver is licensed, and all permits are in place for a legal operation.
  • Our facility offers free Wi-Fi, shade, beach beds, hammocks, picnic tables, music, a rooftop terrace, ice-cold drinks, and a small stop-shop.
  • We offer rides to and from your hotel if needed.
  • We are very responsive on all forms of contact, including WhatsApp.
